Internship Experiences
2024 – INSERM – IRSD
Effects of repeated IL-33 stimulations on mast cell response.
– Louise BATTUT –
A rewarding two-month voluntary internship during which I studied human and murine mast cells to understand the effects of repeated IL-33 stimulations. I was able to refine my skills in cell culture, flow cytometry, and ELISA techniques, while consolidating my knowledge in immunology, particularly regarding the actors and factors involved in allergic responses. Within a supportive and stimulating team, I also deepened my scientific knowledge and honed my writing skills, further strengthening my passion for research.
2023 – PHARMACIE GLANDOR
Pharmacy internship
– Didier GLANDOR –
A two-week observational internship in a pharmacy that allowed me to discover all aspects of the profession, from pharmacy organization to patient interaction. This experience provided me with valuable knowledge in public health, while strengthening my teamwork and personal development skills. Surrounded by a supportive team, I learned not only how a pharmacy operates, but also the broader public health issues, making this internship a rewarding experience both professionally and personally.
2023 – INSERM – IRSD
Role of gut microbiota implantation in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
– Dr. Sarah MAUREL –
A two-month voluntary internship that truly fascinated me, allowing me to understand certain physiological mechanisms of the gut microbiota associated with prenatal stress during the first 1000 days of life using a murine model. I had the opportunity to familiarize myself with qPCR/RT-qPCR, the murine model, flow cytometry, and work with a supportive research team where I also had the chance to explore other research topics in immunology and development. This internship helped me improve my technical, social, public speaking, and writing skills.
2019 – INSERM / CNRS – MMDN
The role of TDP43 and S1R in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis studied in zebrafish.
– Dr. Jean-Charles LIÉVENS –
A two-month BTS internship that allowed me to explore the mechanisms involving the TDP43 protein and the Sigma-1 receptor (S1R) in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) using the zebrafish model. I gained skills in immunofluorescence, proteomic analysis, and scientific protocol design. By leading an independent project, I applied my knowledge in 3D printing, electronics, and computer science to help the team better characterize the effects of mutated TDP43 and S1R in ALS. This work was acknowledged with my inclusion in the Acknowledgements section of two scientific articles.
The development of a protocol during an internship
Zebra Rail Touch Escape : Innovating to measure zebrafish locomotion.
The challenge: improving locomotion measurement.
The previous protocol, based on a Petri dish, introduced biases as zebrafish often followed non-linear paths. We therefore created a constraining track, ensuring linear movement to measure the distance traveled more reliably.
The design of the track.
The track had to meet precise dimensions: too wide, the fish would get stuck; too narrow, it would move poorly. We tested different materials to ensure both permeability and non-toxicity for the fish, thus providing a safe experimental environment.
Validation and scientific recognition
The Zebra Rail Touch Escape protocol, still in use today, has been validated in terms of reproducibility and accuracy. It allowed me to be acknowledged in two scientific articles and to gain valuable independence, with the support of the researchers who guided me through this process.

Freelancer
Illustralab - Gragnague
I created my own company, where I offer services in IT and physiological animation for training organizations in the healthcare sector and for new startup companies. In the IT field, I assist my clients in automating repetitive tasks and analyzing their performance by collecting and visualizing data in a clearer and more effective way. I’ve had the opportunity to work on diverse projects, with each company having specific needs to improve its workflow.
In parallel, I specialized in creating flat design and 3D animations to explain physiological and anatomical mechanisms. I also designed video capsules and educational materials to make training more interactive and accessible. This experience allowed me to develop advanced technical skills, but also taught me how to manage a project from start to finish, interact with clients from different sectors, and adapt to the specific needs of each company.
Being a self-employed entrepreneur has given me great autonomy and allowed me to strengthen my relational, economic, and legal skills, while confronting the reality of a startup, where every decision has a direct impact on business development. It also enabled me to expand into interdisciplinary areas that are crucial to the success of a business.
